Pressing Through the Hard Times in Life

Have you been to a point in life where you feel hollow and hopeless? Do you feel as if the world is crashing down on you and you don’t know if you are mentally and emotionally going to make it to tomorrow? I’ve been there. More than one time, I’ve been there.

The more and more I see darkness in the light, the more I know that we must experience both in our lives to differentiate the two. Lao Tzu touches on this in the Tao Te Ching, Chapter 41:

“The path into the light seems dark, the path forward seems to go back,
the direct path seems long, true power seems weak,
true purity seems tarnished, true steadfastness seems changeable,
true clarity seems obscure, the greatest are seems unsophisticated,
the greatest love seems indifferent, the greatest wisdom seems childish.
The Tao is nowhere to be found. Yet it nourishes and completes all things.”

    Choosing Our World

We go into this world blind. As children we trust our parents to help us grow and give us the strength to begin our own journey.  I believe we choose parents who are ideal to grow us into the most optimal beings for us to do the work we are meant to do in this world. I also believe we have a system of people, or a soul relationship, with those close to us. These people are the ones who break our hearts, teach us our biggest lessons, and act as a guide to us during our life on this planet.

God Will Not Give Us a Situation We Cannot Handle

Yes, read that again. God will not give us a situation we cannot handle. This means that break up that was too hard to deal  with, was put here to help you grow. Yes, even the job you thought was perfect, but ended up landing you the career of a lifetime was put in your path for you to take it. We are constantly given life situations to promote growth.

At the time of our breakdowns we don’t feel life will move past them but in time, it does. We must change our outlook on the situation and see the silver lining that is sometimes hard to see.

    Fall in Love With Trials

One thing that helped me along my journey was to fall in love with the hard times. It is okay to admit that life is hard. Know that things will make a turn at some point, and the earlier you learn to deal with it, the better.

When you are seeing one closed door after another, this is a wake up call. When we do not learn from a lesson the first time, it will continue to come up until it makes its point. We will show up again and again to the same issue as it surfaces, but with minor differences. Sometimes it will grow from a minor issue to a huge ‘breakdown leads to breakthrough’ moment for us.

Stay aware of what is happening in your life. Understand the triggers that surface, and work day in and day out to show up better than the day before. Know that each trial is put here for a reason. We were put here in a human body to grow spiritually, so don’t be surprise when you hit those moments of trial. Grow from the trials put before you and push for what you know is right.

    Don’t Lose Faith

All in all, do not give up on your faith. Faith, and feeling connected, is what is important in the end. Do not lose focus on what is true. Continue to live life with an open heart and lead with compassion. Ground yourself in what you know is right and let all else fall aside. Know your life mission and don’t let the worldly life we live in break you. Let go of who you were, the expectations you had on yourself, and live the life that is meant for you. Being conscious and aware of yourself and what God has in store for you is more important than anything else.

Remember, there is something bigger than us and there is a plan. Tune in, listen, and pay attention to what is put in your pathway to live the life that is destined for you.

Breakdowns lead to breakthroughs if we continue to press forward and live a life full of faith and love.

    Om, shantih.

About Me

About Me

Ashlee Brooke

Hello Everyone, I'm Ashlee!
I started this blog to help others find their footing along the Spiritual Path because I felt lost and confused on my own.
I am an Ashtanga Student, Student of Ayurveda, Reiki Master, and Spiritual/Life Coach.
My passion is Personal Development. My goal is to help you leave with something that supports you along your path towards enlightenment.
I share the knowledge that I have, and my life experiences, in hopes that it gives you some tools to help you along your own journey in this world.
My intuition is my guide, so I do encourage you to listen to the small voice inside of you and let that be your guide as well. I do not talk about specific religions, because it is your journey to figure out what resonates with you the most. However, I do talk about my personal experiences and am a strong believer of trusting the process.
Salt Lake City, Utah is currently my home and I love it so very much. I grew up in Las Vegas, but when my life shifted, so did my home.
I live in SLC with my little pup, Bella. She is my world.
I enjoy a good Vegan restaurant, long conversations about life in coffee shops, and days filled with sunshine.
Thank you for following me on my journey and experiencing the ups and downs with me! <3
Om Shantih.
